Twitter Boosts Character Limit To 4,000 For Twitter Blue Subscribers

Twitter has announced an increase in the number of characters in a single tweet from 280 to 4000 for “Twitter Blue” subscribers in the United States.

“Do you need 280+ characters to express yourself? We know a lot of you want to… and while we love a good thread, sometimes you want to tweet everything at once,” Twitter said in a statement.

“It was stated in the announcement: “Starting today, if you are a subscriber to Twitter Blue in the United States, you may compose longer tweets.”

While Twitter Blue subscribers may only post longer tweets, anyone and everyone can read them, and respond, retweet, and quote them regardless of whether or not they are a Twitter Blue subscriber.
