Fans absolutely livid as Vaughan trolls Team India

Former England captain Michael Vaughan surely knows how to draw the attention of the Indian cricket fans. The former cricketer hardly praises the Indian men’s team as he keeps pinpointing their flaws time and time again. Whenever India loses a match, Vaughan trolls Team India.

This time also it was nothing new as he took a dig at the Indian national cricket team after the Indian women’s cricket team put on a great performance against England women in the second ODI in Taunton.

Indian women might have lost the match but managed to win the hearts of the fans. They showed tremendous fighting spirit while defending the target. Batting first, the visitors were bowled out for 221 in 50 overs.

Shafali Verma provided a good start by scoring 44 runs with the help of 7 boundaries. Indian women’s team captain Mithali who was recently recommended for Khel Ratna Award by the BCCI scored a sensational 59 with the help of 6 boundaries.

She was looking to shift gears but was unfortunately run out by the combined efforts of Sophia Dunkley and A Jones. On the other hand, Kate Cross bowled ever so well as she registered a fantastic fifer while Ecclestone took 3 wickets to her name.

In reply, England women had plenty of overs in hand to chase down the target comfortably. However, Indian women put up a great fight by mounting pressure on English women. Poonam Yadav took 2 wickets to her name while Jhulan Goswami, Shikha Pandey and Sneh Rana took 1 wicket each.

Sophia Dunkley top-scored for England with an unbeaten 73 off 81 deliveries including 5 fours and a six. Lauren Winfield Hill scored 42. Katherine Brunt was also unbeaten on 33 including 3 fours as England women won the game by 5 wickets.

Upon seeing India women’s performance, Vaughan took to Twitter to troll Team India. He was of the opinion that at least one Indian cricket team (citing women’s team) are playing better cricket in English conditions.

“The Indian women’s team are putting in an excellent display today … Good to see at least 1 Indian cricket team can play in English conditions,” Vaughan wrote. The cricket expert’s tweet didn’t go well with fans.

Fans roasted Vaughan on Twitter:
