Bukayo Saka has lavished praise on Emile Smith Rowe and is ecstatic with the impact the youngster has had for Arsenal this season.

After loan spells at RB Leipzig and Huddersfield, Gunners academy graduate Smith Rowe was finally afforded a real opportunity in the first-team earlier in the campaign.

The 20-year-old’s introduction at the end of December coincided with Mikel Arteta’s side going on a run of five wins in six Premier League games which propelled them up the table.

Smith Rowe registered three assists over that period and established himself as the main creator in the side.

Results for the Gunners have begun to sour again following back-to-back losses against Wolves and Aston Villa, but Saka, who is another successful product of the club’s Hale End academy, had nothing but positive words for his team-mate.

‘He’s settled in perfectly, he was patient for his opportunity and I think he deserved it,’ Saka told the Premier League’s official YouTube channel.

‘When he got it he took it and showed the impact he can make for the team.

‘He’s a livewire across the pitch, he’s everywhere, he will run into space, pass into space and create opportunities for all of us.

‘I love playing with him and I’m really happy with what he’s done in the team since he’s come in.’

Saka was also full of praise for highly-rated 19-year-old Gabriel Martinelli, who has continued to show promising flashes after registering 10 goals across all competitions last season.

‘Just watch him play and press, the way he goes, he doesn’t stop,’ Saka added.

“He’s not only just fast, he can also run a long distance at that same speed and just get faster.

‘You look at his Chelsea goal he didn’t slow down or get tired. It’s not just his pace it’s his engine as well.

‘It’s crazy. It’s like he’s got a battery pack on his back.’
